Ode is simple! (Simple means that you know how it works.)

Hi.

This is the project website for Ode (pronounced oh-dee), a personal publishing engine for the web. Ode is unique in that it is designed to be simple – not necessarily easy.

Simple means understandable (at least it does here).

It's that time again

By which I mean that it's getting close to the end of the year. This time last year I shared my thoughts about Ode and where the project was headed. This time, I'm going to spare you the pointless speculation.

Instead I'd like to recommend a couple of songs.

I'm including links to these songs at amazon, iTunes, and Google Music (unless unavailable). I'm not a proponent of music subscription services, so I'm not linking to Spotify or others, though I'm sure you can find them there if you want to do that.

If they're unfamiliar, check them out. If you know these songs, maybe give them another listen.

Here's hoping for a good 2012. The way things are shaping up, it might be a rough one.

Fairytale Of New York, The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl

My all time favorite Christmas song. In just about everyday it represents, for me, the true spirit and hopefulness of the season and the start of a new year, without losing sight of reality.

(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding, Elvis Costello

A good song, and an even better question. Though today I might ask why do we care more about memes than peace, love, and understanding. But it's the same idea really.
